About Alex

Alex is one of the fastest-growing startups to come out of our YC batch, building at the frontier of AI and hiring. We’re generating strong revenue, are backed by strong investors, and have years of runway.

We move quickly, and we’re changing how companies hire. Our AI recruiter, Alex, conducts live job interviews, helping companies get deep hiring signals faster. Alex helps recruiters with their busy work so they can focus on higher leverage tasks and building relationships with promising candidates.

About the Role

We’re making our first Business Operations hire to help Alex run like a machine as we scale. We’re looking for a cracked generalist who’s hungry enough to do everything and humble enough to do anything.

This is a high-agency, high-context role at the center of the company. You’ll identify problems, ruthlessly prioritize, and make decisions that directly impact the business. Your job is simple in theory and challenging in practice: Remove friction, increase leverage, and make things happen.

This role is based in person in San Francisco and reports to our Head of Ops.

What we’re looking for
  • 3-5+ years of experience, ideally in B2B SaaS in operations, biz ops, or GTM

  • Startup and founder mindset - high ownership with little direction

  • Experience building processes from scratch using best practices from other companies

  • Open and direct communication style

  • Relentless ability to prioritize, execute, and stay focused in a chaotic environment

  • Someone who believes that AI will fundamentally change how companies hire (and wants to lead in that change)

  • Someone who is energized to work alongside our ambitious team in SF

If this resonates with you, we want you to apply. Your first conversation will be with Alex, our AI recruiter.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
