Technical knowledge and expert perspectives from the field.
In 2025, Hugging Face took a significant step into real-world AI by launching Reachy Mini — a compact, expressive, fully open-source desktop robot. Designed for developers, educators, and researchers, Reachy Mini offers an accessible and programmable platform to explore the intersection of large language models (LLMs), computer vision, and embodied AI systems.
Reachy Mini is a humanoid robot head with six degrees of freedom (DoF), a camera, microphone, speaker, and a set of animated antennas. It’s built for table-top interaction, expression, and experimentation — powered entirely by open-source software and Hugging Face integrations.
With a small footprint and plug-and-play architecture, it brings robotic interaction into classrooms, labs, and hobbyist workbenches.
