At Exa, we're building a next-generation AI search engine—one that outperforms Google for power users. We help people find the information they can’t get anywhere else.
We're an SF team of ~80 from Harvard, MIT, Google, Apple etc. We recently raised a Series B from Benchmark, and we are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history.
We're looking for a Chief of Staff to the CEO (Will Bryk). This is a Level 3 type of CoS role —operating as a true extension of the founder — full context, full trust, full responsibility.
What we are looking for
Be intense and organized. You must be able to derive clarity from the hundreds of continuous data points coming through, prioritize effectively, and execute with little to no oversight.
Sometimes, urgent things pop up. Care deeply about the company and make yourself available when needed.
You’ve operated in the tech space, ideally supporting leadership at a high-growth startup or running your own. 3+ years of experience is required.
Low ego, high agency, deeply mission-aligned.
What you'll do
Serve as an extension of the founder’s judgment — bringing structure, clarity, and taste to every critical decision.
Parse the founder’s inbox to understand the full context behind each thread — prioritize what matters, surface what’s urgent, and quietly handle what doesn’t need to reach the founder.
Be a strategic sounding board in company decision-making and strategy — maintain deep context across all functions to ensure clarity, alignment, and high-quality judgment.
We are open to sponsoring International candidates (e.g STEM OPT, OPT, H1B, O1, E3). This is an in-person opportunity in San Francisco. We're big believers in in-person culture!
